Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious skin disorder affecting individuals between 15 to 35 years. It causes rapid skin cell growth, leading to thick, red, dry, and itchy patches due to accumulated dead skin.
Symptoms
Common areas
(Elbows, knees, scalp)
Mild cases
(Often unnoticed)
Severe cases
(Arthritis, joint stiffness)
Causes
Though the exact cause is unknown, genetics and immune dysfunction are major factors. In psoriasis, T-cells attack healthy skin cells, triggering excessive skin production.
1. Triggers: Stress, obesity, smoking, cold weather, weak immunity, and certain medications
2. Ayurvedic View: Imbalance in Vata and Kapha doshas, along with toxin buildup, causes skin inflammation
Psoriasis may lead to diabetes, heart disease, psoriatic arthritis, and mental health issues.
